Extra Performance Survey - Jr. High Band

    ATTENTION AEO BAND STUDENTS!
    Are you looking for…
    *** More of a challenge in band?
    *** More music to supplement what we’re doing in band class? (HOLIDAY MUSIC!)
    *** Performance opportunities outside of the band concert?
    If so, then listen here!!
    I would like to invite students who are looking for “more” to volunteer to play some holiday music in a variety of small group settings, listed below. Depending on interest, we will assign small groups to play in the following places/times:
    If you are interested (this is completely optional), please indicate in the survey below WHICH dates/times you are available to perform (you will not perform at ALL of these times). Consult with a parent on this -- you will need their permission and transportation! *
    1.  High School Jazz Concert (pre-show music only - play as people enter the building) - PHS Auditorium Lobby, on Wednesday, November 29th, Report around 6pm
    2.  Plum Tree Lighting Festival (on stage) - Plum Ball Fields (Report to PHS) - Thursday, November 30th, Perform around 7:30, Report time TBA
    3.  AEO Chorus Concert (pre-show music only - play as people enter the building) - PHS Auditorium Lobby - Tuesday, December 12, Report around 6pm
    4.  AEO Orchestra Concert (pre-show music only - play as people enter the building) - AEO Auditorium Lobby - Thursday, December 14 - Report around 6pm
    5.  High School Chorus Concert (pre-show music only - play as people enter the building) - PHS Auditorium Lobby - Wednesday, December 20th, Report around 6pm

    * At this point in time, this is merely an interest survey.
    * Based on student interest and instrumentation, I will try assemble groups that I think will work well together and schedule performances from there.
    * Once we assign groups to certain days, I will send home a parent permission slip that ensures me that the student will be permitted to attend and have transportation to/from their assigned date. This is to ensure the success of each group (if people sign up and don’t show up, it compromises the performance of the whole group).
    * More details on each event will follow. I’ve provided dates and times so you can check your calendars at home to see whether it’s possible for you to attend to perform. Report times may slightly vary, and
    * My intention here is to provide supplemental opportunities for students who have a good handle on their band music, are looking for more challenges, and are motivated to prepare music on their own through personal practice at home. As we have a short window of time to prepare for our January concert, this music should not interfere with students’ preparation of band music.
